Tanker Hill

This is the steep hill where the brakes failed on the tanker before Greg drove it to the farm, and also where it crashed after being taken by Buckmaster.

This is located on a country lane (OS sheet 149 GR SO533502) which can be reached from the A417 ( almost opposite the turnoff to the Vineyard) south of the village of Bodenham.

To reach Tanker hill turn off the A417 at Saffrons Cross near the Murco Petrol station. Follow the lane for 1 mile, then turn right at the junction, then next left. After 1 mile you will reach another junction, (this is where Jenny was kidnapped by Buckmaster) turn right here and after about half a mile you reach the foot of  the hill where Greg managed to stop the tanker (near a gate on the right). Just before this point also on your right, is the place where the tanker crashed at the end of the episode.

Continue up Tanker Hill, then take the next turning left which will lead you to The Vauld ( OS sheet 149 GR SO532494), the house used in Survivors episode A Beginning, which is next door to the cottage used in  the Starvation episode. With the cottage on your right walk on past The Vauld, then bear to the left and after a short distance you will see an entrance to a track which leads to a private property (Monmarsh), this is where Buckmaster had his camp.

Church House Farm

This is where Greg took the petrol tanker after it’s brakes failed. The barn was demolished last year and there is now a horse paddock in it’s place

From the Vineyard location, continue past the Vineyard access road and after about 1.5 miles bear right. Follow this road for 1 mile to Risbury before turning right at the crossroads. Follow this narrow country lane for about 3 miles, and find Church House Farm on the right hand side (OS sheet 149 GR SO575537).

This is private property, but the site of the barn (on the left hand side of the drive) can be seen from the entrance to the farm.
